Thank you to everyone who participated in our event to raise awareness of Canada’s seal hunt yesterday in Dublin. Again for a lunchtime event it was well supported. Over 30 ARAN members and supporters held signs reading ‘Save the Seals, Boycott Canadian Seafood’ whilst others held a banner reading ‘Canada, Stop Killing Seals’. We also had a member wearing our body screen TV which showed footage of Canada’s seal hunt in 2007, countless people watched the footage including many students and school children, we have no doubt this footage will make many caring people want to do more to end this needless hunt and stop cruelty to animals. We also had a planned press photo call which was guaranteed until news broke with a national story in Ireland taking the headlines!

Luckily for our many members who could not make it due to work commitments and much more, we have some exciting video footage we took just for you, please click here. We will also have a report along with pictures on our website www.ARAN.ie shortly.

Thank you to everyone who continues to support our campaigns work. From writing letters and emails, making phone calls and donations, organizing information stands, public awareness, helping ARAN with your skills behind the scenes or better still attending our educational events to raise awareness, ARAN thanks you for your ongoing support of all our work, together we really are changing hearts and minds, for the better!

Thank You,

Animal Rights Action Network

Ps, in just a few weeks EU commissioner Stavros Dimas will be making their decision on a possible EU wide trade ban of seal products from Canada coming into the EU and passing through EU ports. Should the ban go ahead, this will ultimately put an end hopefully to Canada’s seal hunt like it did in the 80’s. If you’d like to politely contact the commissioner before they make their decision please email directly at stavros.dimas@ec.europa.eu
