LUSH Teams Up with ARAN and Animal Aid for Meat Free Month 2009

LUSH Cosmetics are an international company known for their cruelty free cosmetics which are often either vegetarian or vegan with absolutely no animal testing involved!
The company regularly takes part in many campaigns to stop cruelty to animals – See this exciting video of just one of their campaigns last year in London and the press coverage the stunt managed to attract to stop the killing of sharks with long liners – it was a huge success. Here in Ireland Animal Rights Action Network teamed up with LUSH once again.

March is meat free month organized by our friends at Animal Aid. During our event held at their Irish flagship store on Dublin’s Grafton Street, two members of Animal Rights Action Network organized a vegan ‘meat’ give away which was kindly sponsored by Redwood foods in the UK whom specialize in vegetarian and vegan food. ARAN supporters gave out free samples of vegan ‘meat’ which did not involve the killing of any animal, but instead is a healthier option to the real counterpart. Information on meat free month was also distributed by ARAN members and LUSH staff whom spoke and chatted with their customers for up to three hours. The aim of today’s event was public education to expose people to what goes on inside the slaughterhouse in order to kill an animal for human consumption.
