Shackled, Lonely and Beaten Circus Campaign Tour A Huge Success

Let’s tell you about an original PETA demo that ARAN has coordinated throughout Ireland since last year. We want you to know just how successful this campaign has being. We began these demos last year and brought the ‘Shackled, Lonely and Beaten’ demo to five Irish cities and Belfast in Northern Ireland – the results? Outstanding, please take a look:-

  1. Limerick City - we achieved full local coverage on the city’s three main newspapers and two local radio stations, giving us the opportunity to speak about how animals suffer inside the circus.
  2. Clare – we achieved full local coverage once again with the city’s two main newspapers covering the story with huge articles plus the local radio station doing a live interview and call in.
  3. Galway - certainly was amazing! We arrived to 11 photographers and a TV crew waiting, our demo got full local coverage on the city’s three main newspapers, two local radio stations, full national coverage on every newspaper and two national radio stations, RTE TV station also showed an Irish undercover investigation into Irish circuses after our demo coverage.
  4. Dublin - was also fantastic, receiving full local coverage in a city with 1 million people, a few local newspapers, complete national exposure in broadsheet and Sunday newspapers, some websites and top national radio stations
  5. Belfast – again a huge success, reaching every national newspaper and radio station in Northern Ireland, getting some coverage in national Irish newspapers and receiving coverage on UTV live news twice in one evening, again showing the terrible conditions and abuse of animals being treated inside the circus.
  6. Cork – complete exposure in the city’s two nationals and several national newspapers, local radio stations also covered the demo with live interviews also.

As you will see there has being huge interest in this particular event. Animal Rights Action Network’s Stop Circus Suffering in Ireland is the country’s single most effective anti-circus campaign that is making a huge difference and make no mistake about it.
